”Made for Europe” Schools Contest- the place where you get to see the future
Diana Rafa, “Avram Iancu” Secondary School, Dej, Romania
European projects for education are leading to great importance achievements for all actors involved into educational process. Starting from tangible project results as didactic means to outcomes that lead to personal and professional development, project results are improving educational process quality. Romanian educational system encourages European cooperation and schools activities’ integration into European educational process. Various instruments to facilitate good practice exchanges between schools are promoted by the Ministry of Education at local and regional level. “Made for Europe” Contest is an event with great tradition in Romania, having its XIV-th edition this year. Students from schools involved into European cooperation are invited to advertise tangible results from their schools’ projects. The contest is difficult, because, usually, students are not aware of all internal mechanisms that lead to a specific project result therefore a large documentation is necessary. Of course, by attending to this event, students understand project’s long term effects on didactic process and they have the chance to get a full perspective to the cooperation events that they are a part of.
This year, 22 products from schools located into Cluj County were presented into the contest. “Avram Iancu” Secondary School proposed three products achieved in the project “Developing educational techniques starting from regional context”. Alexandru Apan, from 8 A grade promoted our online lessons platform, Mădălina Nemeti, from 8 A grade promoted “Teaching challenges” magazine and Iasmina Magurean from 8 grade A promoted our etwinning project awarded with National Quality Label. All three students had very good presentations. They handled very good, oral presentations, convincing the jury of their efforts in project interest. Alexandru Apan and our project learning platform with online lessons and digital instruments were awarded with the third prize. Also the entire school team was ranked on the third place from all 15 schools that were involved in the contest.
We are proud of our students’ performance and we are proud of the appreciation that our project products got in the contest. After all, this is a confirmation of our entire team good quality work, and may be considered an external evaluation of project products.
