Name an ExoWorld!
Scientific event from “Avram Iancu” Secondary School, Dej, Romania
Aim: cultivating students interest towards the latest discoveries in astronom;
Objectives: At the end of the workshopthe students will:
- be able to explain the scientific therm of exoplanet;
- get to know which are the latest exoplanets observed by James Webb Telescope;
- have their own proposal regarding one exoplanet.
Activities:
- A small presentation about the exoplanets;
- A short briefing of James Webb Telescope;

Our final proposal

Warm Heart
A star’s light means the essence of life on a planet. Starting from the realities of our planetary system, where the Sun is the main factor for life on Earth, its light being the light of life and the necessary factor for all process of living world, the name we propose suggest star’s essential role of giving light to planets that gravitate around it.
By analogy with human body, where the heart provides all organs’ functions, pumping vital liquid towards them, we propose the name “Warm Heart” for the star WASP69. The attribute “warm” was chosen metaphorical to suggest life and as a direct meaning, the enormous incandescent gases conglomerate involved in chemical reactions that any star represent.

The Planet with Longing
Even if the name of “Warm Heart” may be directly related to physic phenomena occurring between a star and its planetary system, this name has a reach metaphoric meaning into Romanian language. “Warm heart” means a deep feeling of innocence and tenderness into Romanian language. To complete the name chosen for the star, the planet that orbits around it will be “The planet with Longing”. The name suggest planet’s orbit around the star as a deep feeling of unfulfilled love, keeping the planet to a distance, but in a close relation with all emerging energies from the star. The world “longing” from Romanian language, can’t be completely translated into foreign languages.
The names we propose are specific to Romanian language and may be added with other expressions that should illustrate meaning richness of the only Latin language from Eastern Europe.
